Telegraph - 4th of June

On Sunday 4th of June, we pleased (and pleasantly surprised) to be mentioned in the Telegraph's article titled 'Want a free Rolls-Royce? Agents are throwing in six-figure sweeteners to sell super-prime property'. The extract reads below:

"Furniture packages are popular with overseas buyers, who may only spend two weeks a year in the UK and want their London bolt-holes fully dressed. In March, a European buyer paid close to the £4.85 million asking price for a penthouse in Telford Homes' Parliament House development on the south bank of the Thames, encouraged by the £250,000-worth of designer fixtures and fittings that came with it.

The inventory for the penthouse included a master bedroom by luxury interiors firm Bill Cleyndert & Company, which fitted out a £60 million superyacht owned by property tycoons Christian and Nick Candy. David Adams, director of Humberts, the agent for Parliament House, called the sweetener a "major incentive" for the overseas investor, saying: "He was time-poor and loved the furniture."

Apprentice Awards 2015

Congratulations to our Apprentice's Sebastian Lay and Andrew Hawes. Last month Sebastian received the coveted '2015 Apprentice of the Year' Award for fine Cabinet Making, awarded by Webbs Furniture Training based in Nottingham. Up against numerous local and national businesses, Sebastian was recognised for his outstanding performance whilst on the Advanced Apprentice course. And rightly deserved; Sebastian has recently completed two very technically challenging bedside cabinets in dark stained Beech & Sycamore veneer with polished stainless steel inlaid trims - exceptionally crisp work.

And well done to Andy, our Apprentice Finisher for achieving 2nd place on the Furniture Finishing course. A good night was had by all!
